In her video for the Monocle magazine, Helena Kardová focused on female animators working without the help of computer animation and the support and dictate of the film industry giants.
She looked for the most distinct of them among the winners of prestigious as well as less known festivals and on the webpages of the animators themselves. As Kardová comments: „We have managed to find artists with different styles and at various stages of their careers. In the end we have chosen animators who work both on the story and animation itself, using extraordinary techniques. Techniques that they have personalized (like Lucie Sunková and her paint-on-glass method) or created themselves (like Daisy Jacobs).”
