The baroque birthplace of the world-renowned Czech composer Antonín Dvořák in Nelahozeves, situated near the local castle, is a significant destination for music lovers from around the world. In 2019, the Lobkowicz Collections, o.p.s., took over the management of this site and initiated its long-awaited transformation into an international music center with a new museum exhibition that connects Dvořák’s music with the genius loci of his birthplace.
The interactive exhibition showcases the environment of a mid-19th-century Central Bohemian village, the period when Dvořák grew up there. Great emphasis is placed on visual and auditory elements. Visitors can access the music through special audio guides, which introduce them to the composer’s life and professional journey, from the humble conditions of his birthplace to worldwide recognition.
The animation part of the exhibition was undertaken by the production company Maurfilm. The team included Markéta Kubátová, Michaela Večerková, Polina Kazak, Marek Pokorný, and Bohdan Buďárek, with scripts written by Lucia Kajánková, all under the leadership of Marcela Vrátilová, head of production.
“We are delighted to have been part of this project and look forward to the reactions of the first visitors,” says Alena Vandasová, producer at Maurfilm.
